Amazing food. All the restaurants are good. Try the Pho! It won't disappoint-especially when you're under the weather. It's like chicken soup for the soul!

This place is solid!!! If ever you want some good food in Maui & want to save a few $$ versus eating at over priced places or over priced food trucks...come down to Kau Kau Market & get your belly filled . They have a great variety of foods to eat. They have a Vietnamese, Mexican, Korean, Hawaiian and Chinese. I come here to get Vietnamese sandwiches at Bale & Mexican at Fernando's. Great price and they give you lots of food. As soon as you walk in, the aroma slaps you in the face & all of a sudden your mouth starts to water. I guarantee that you're going to be "undecided" on the food selection but anything you select I'm pretty sure your taste buds are going to thank you. If you want to budget or want to take a break from the costly Maui food prices...come to Kau Kau Market!

I really like this spot when I'm in Kahului and looking for a casual and quick sit-down lunch... (until the pandemic at least). Nowadays there are no tables and chairs, and food is take-out only. I like that there's options, so if you're with others, each person can choose what kind of food to eat. I usually opt for the Ba-Le food since I love their offerings of grab and go spring rolls, or the crispy fried spring rolls. Other choices included Mexican, and local food which is mostly Asian inspired. It's a nice clean space with air conditioning and ample room to stay distanced from others. The bathrooms are nice too. With so many empty stores in this center, parking is a breeze, including many shady spots.

Located at the Maui Marketplace, Kau Kau Market is like the one bright spot that actually still has life and regular customers flowing through over the years. There are 4 1/2 (1/2 because L&L and Chopsticks express are pretty much the same outlet) food outlets with Pearls being the newcomer among the the others. It's a fast and very convenient place to stop by for a bite to eat real quick and has a few choices. They're open pretty "late" until 9pm and have a good amount of seating inside. It's also enclosed and air conditioned and so provides a small reprieve from the heat if you need. I usually stop here for Bale and L&L. Neither have great customer service but the food has at least remained relatively consistent. You also have Fernando's. All in all, there's a pretty good variety and I will continue to come here for the convenience :)

This place is located in the Maui Marketplace. I like coming here, 4 choices to choose from Fernandos, Bale, Pearl's and L & L BBQ. come hungry because they give big portions. They keep the place nice and clean you always see them cleaning, wiping the tables. That's a plus for me. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked toilet paper, soap and paper towels.

I enjoy going here. 4 different places of food to choose from: Fernando's, Ba-Le, L&L, and now Pearl's! This is my go-to place if I'm feeling indecisive and don't know what kind of food I want to eat. Nice atmosphere, AC, and the tables set up is flexible. For example, if needed, you can combine two small tables for enough seats for four people. I just recommend to put it back when you're done. There's staff that keep this place nice and clean by wiping tables and sweeping in between customers. All you do is order your food then find yourself a table. Listen for your name or order to be called from where you ordered. Then eat! If you have utensils and a food tray, you return it near the trash bins. There's public restrooms inside the Kau Kau Market too.

Thank you fellow Oahu Yelper Fran C. for creating this page! We definitely need more Yelpers like you on Maui lol. The Kau Kau Market is the food court of the Maui Marketplace. It's a small, enclosed 4-stall food court tucked away in the west corner of the mall. Seating capacity is acceptable for the amount of traffic they see. Restrooms are conveniently located inside. When the food court first opened, they had 5 stalls total, but now its down to just 4. A defunct Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory used to open up to the food court from a neighboring space but that didn't last too long. The current list includes Bale (Vietnamese/local Hawaii), Fernando's (Mexican), and L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, all of them original tenants from day one. The fourth stall has been occupied and vacated quite a few times, once having been a 50's-style diner serving burgers and shakes, and most recently a failed attempt as a Beach Bums BBQ Express. But, a new, more popular and eatery with really good food is coming in, hopefully sometime in 2016. Pearl's Korean BBQ (same company as Yummy Korean BBQ) is opening a second location on the rock. Ooooh, they're going to steal a lot of biz away from Bale and L&L! Something I've always noticed is that the area is constantly kept clean by their outsourced staff who are constantly sweeping, wiping, and dumping trash. So, because of their incoming addition and constant cleanliness, 4 stars!
